How to create a Bybit API key
Bybit menu: Profile → API → Create New Key
- On the Bybit website, open Profile → API → Create New Key and choose a system-generated key.
- Enter a label and choose read-only access, or Read and Write for orders.
- Check Orders and Positions permissions for derivatives. Depending on the account type, these appear under Contract/Derivatives or Unified Trading.
- Set the IP allowlist, complete security verification including Google 2FA when requested, and retain the Key and Secret.
Security: never enable withdrawal (Withdraw) permission. Aurora Pro only uses read and futures trading permissions.
Try Bybit on demo first
Aurora connects to Bybit Demo Trading. Switch your main account to Demo Trading and create a key under Profile → API there. Keys from the separate Testnet website do not match Aurora’s current demo connection.
